(#14) FRESH MINT: Fresh from the Garden

A little mint goes a long way.  If you're not a big mint person, but curious to try this ice cream, you should reduce the amount of mint leaves in this recipe. It's not the mint flavor you'd get in your typical Mint Chocolate Chip or "Grasshopper Pie,"--it's a more refreshing mint that works best on its own. 

Fresh Mint Ice Cream
yields about 1.5 quarts
2 cups mint leaves packed
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 large egg yolks
2 large eggs
3/4 cups sugar
1 cup coarsely chopped mint leaves
pinch of salt
