(#75) CHOCOLATE STOUT: Cheers to 2013!

I'd like to make a toast to an amazing 2013! Chocolate Stout Ice Cream, my 75th flavor, is made with Samuel Smith's organic chocolate stout. The flavor is lighter than you might expect, with a perfect balance of stout and chocolate. Let's take a bite and toast to even more scrumptious flavors in 2014!

Scoopsies' Chocolate Stout Ice Cream
1 cup chocolate stout, reduced to about 1/2 cup
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 1/2 oz. bittersweet chocolate
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla extract

(#23) GREEN SMOOTHIE: Kale At Its Finest

At first I was skeptical of this flavor, suggested by one of our Facebook followers.  But when we started looking at some "green smoothie" recipes, I knew this would be a hit.  It's still ice cream (it's not vegan!), but how can you feel guilty eating it?

Something I love about ice cream--each ice cream has it's own unique color.  I love that lychee ice cream is different from coconut and carrot cake was just a shade darker than a pumpkin ice cream we made in the Fall.  The color of green smoothie--a natural green, which you don't see so much--just makes me fall in love with ice cream all over again.

Try garnishing with some nuts--pistachios or almonds.
